Does Your Strategic Plan Have Imposter Syndrome?

It is a question worth sitting with.

Not because the vision is wrong. Not because the leadership is weak. But because even the most well crafted strategic plans can start to feel disconnected from reality when the environment around them has not caught up yet.

This happens more often than most organizations want to admit. A plan is built with great intention. The goals are ambitious. The direction is clear. And then somehow, months later, it is sitting on a shelf wondering why nobody is following it.

The plan is not the problem. The foundation around it usually is.

Strategy is not just what you write down. It is what your organization is actually able to carry forward. And that requires more than vision. It requires aligned systems, adequate capacity and a culture that is ready to move in the same direction.

Before asking where do we want to go, it is worth asking what is currently in the way. What systems are not supporting the work? Where is capacity stretched too thin? Where is alignment breaking down?

Those are the questions that turn a strategic plan from a document into a direction.
